Job summary

TAIT is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to support land-development projects from preliminary layout through final plan production in Santa Ana, California. You’ll perform grading, drainage analysis, street design and water, sewer, and storm-drain systems, with Civil 3D modeling and earthwork calculations.

You’ll work with an experienced team to prepare SWMPs, drainage studies, and utility reports, transforming initial concepts into construction documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D while

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with 1–3 years’ experience in civil engineering field (entry level considered).
• E.I.T. certification preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2009+ (or newer), Civil 3D and Hydrology/Hydraulics software.
• Experience with commercial-retail projects is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Transform initial rough design information into working construction documents using AutoCAD.
• Use AutoCAD to establish horizontal/vertical alignments, profiles, cross sections and perform earthwork calculations.
• Prepare plans for drainage, grading, water, sewer, storm drain, street improvements and site planning using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Prepare engineering drawings to specified standards.
• Design basic construction documents and prepare exhibits/maps using field data and research.
