Job summary

TAIT is seeking a Civil Design Engineer in Santa Ana, CA to support land-development projects from preliminary layout through final plan production. You will perform grading, drainage analysis, street design, and water/sewer/storm drain system work, using Civil 3D and AutoCAD to produce construction documents.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering with 1–3 years’ experience (entry level considered), and a preferred E.I.T. credential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with 1–3 years’ experience in civil engineering (entry level considered).
• E.I.T. certification preferred.
• Proficient with AutoCAD 2009+ and Civil 3D; Hydrology/Hydraulics software experience.
• Experience with commercial-retail projects is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Transform rough design information into working construction documents using AutoCAD.
• Set horizontal/vertical alignments, profiles, cross sections and perform earthwork calculations with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Prepare plans for drainage, grading, water/sewer/storm drain, and site layout for land development.
• Prepare engineering drawings to specified standards and create exhibits from field data.
