Job summary

Bohler Engineering Group’s Columbus, OH office is seeking a Design Engineer who will help design sites from concept to completion, working closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to create practical, buildable solutions. You’ll use AutoCAD Civil 3D and contribute to permitting and design packages.

Candidates should have a Civil Engineering degree and 2+ years’ site design experience, with strong communication and teamwork skills to thrive in a collaborative, mentorship-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years of site design experience across residential and/or commercial/industrial projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and basic engineering design principles.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn new tools and methods.
• Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of site layout, grading, utility, and stormwater management plans.
• Conduct research, prepare reports, and support due diligence investigations.

About the Role

Bohler’s Columbus, OHoffice is seeking a Design Engineer who’s ready to grow, take on new challenges, and be part of a collaborative team shaping the future of land development across Central Ohio. In this role, you’ll support site design projects from concept to completion, working closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to create practical, buildable, and creative solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in the preparation of site layout, grading, utility, and stormwater management plans
• Conduct research, prepare reports, and support due diligence investigations
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to deliver coordinated design packages.
• Perform design calculations and drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Support permitting efforts with local and state agencies
• Contribute ideas and enthusiasm to help solve engineering challenges
