Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Civil Design Engineer II to join our team in Chicago. The role focuses on designing infrastructure projects and delivering technical solutions while mentoring junior staff.

You will contribute across transportation, site development, utilities, and related civil disciplines to meet project goals. The position requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 3–5 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years of civil engineering design experience.
• Experience in transportation, site development, or municipal projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software.
• Knowledge of AASHTO and local codes.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs, plans, and specs for infrastructure projects (roadways, drainage, site grading, utilities).
• Perform hydrology, structural loads, and geotechnical analyses per standards.
• Manage design schedules, budgets, and deliverables with guidance from seniors.
• Oversee and review work of junior engineers and designers.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Prepare reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Stay current on civil engineering tools and regulations.
