JOB TITLE: Civil Design Engineer, Energy and Utilities

LOCATION: Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania

Summary

Ardmore Roderick is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design utility and highway infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale energy, transportation, municipal, and private development projects, designing relocations of overhead and underground utilities to accommodate new construction. This role offers the chance to work on critical energy infrastructure while growing within a dynamic and expanding firm.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of overhead and underground gas/electric distribution systems.
  • Perform engineering calculations, technical drawings, and design documentation under senior guidance.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and MicroStation for mapping, design, and drafting.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, electrical, and environmental engineers.
  • Support project planning by reviewing permits, design standards, and utility regulations.
  • Participate in field assessments to collect data and assist in developing engineering solutions.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry codes, safety regulations, and client specifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in civil design, energy, or utility engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS, and PLS-CADD.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • EIT certification preferred; PE track is encouraged.
