Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a results-oriented Litigation Attorney to join our civil defense team in Houston. You will manage a diverse caseload, develop case strategy, and advance matters through discovery and motion practice while delivering cost-conscious, client-focused service.

The role requires handling hearings and trials, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with insurers and experts to achieve favorable resolutions. Travel to courts and client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active state bar membership.
• 3–7 years of civil litigation with defense-side experience; senior roles considered.
• Experience in personal injury, trucking defense, premises liability, and construction defect cases preferred.
• Ability to try cases to verdict and manage courtroom proceedings independently.
• Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills; familiarity with eDiscovery.
• Excellent client communication and ability to coordinate with insurers and experts.
• Willingness to travel to courts, accident scenes, and client sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full civil defense caseload from intake to resolution.
• Develop case strategy, pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Represent clients at mediations, hearings, trials, and settlements.
• Coordinate with insurers, adjusters, experts, and co-counsel.
• Draft and review contracts, reports, and settlement agreements.
• Mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
• Maintain case files, calendars, and budgets; meet billable goals.
• Identify opportunities for early resolution and ADR.
• Stay current on case law and local rules affecting defense litigation.
