Mortenson is seeking a Laborer Journeyman in Oregon to assist with preparation, handling, and supplying materials for other crafts on the job site.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, scaffolding setup, concrete work, and site housekeeping. Candidates should have a two-year apprenticeship and construction experience, plus ability to operate common construction tools. This union-backed role offers growth and safety-focused work.

Qualifications

• Two-year apprenticeship completed.
• Construction experience preferred.
• Ability to use power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, power buggies.
• Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and professional communication; open to diverse input and feedback.
• Repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Duties may change without notice.

Laborer Journeyman

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer Journeyman that will be responsible for the preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to be used by other crafts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend mortar and grout
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Provide work direction and guidance to Laborer I, II, Helpers, and Apprentice
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of two-year apprenticeship program
• Experience in construction preferred
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
