Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Laborer Helper to assist Laborers and Journeymen with material handling, equipment assembly/disassembly, and site preparation. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and efficient material flow across tasks on site. The candidate will clean work areas, manage basic equipment, and support various crafts.

Physical effort is required, including lifting up to 50 lbs. Visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction preferred.
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication.
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
• Duties may change without notice.

Laborer Helper

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer Helper that will be responsible for assisting Laborers and Laborer Journeyman with material handling, assembling and dismantling of equipment, preparing work areas, and cleaning of machines and workspaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload equipment
• Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools to be used by other crafts
• Clean work area, machines, and equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend motor and grout: lift, unload, move, set, and shovel between wheelbarrows and buckets
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and loading or burning of debris
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned
