Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. in California is seeking a Civil Superintendent to oversee field construction of civil projects, lead field foremen, and ensure safety and on-time completion in collaboration with the Project Manager.

The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of site leadership, experience with civil work and multiple crews, plus familiarity with HCSS/Heavy Jobs, Procore or Bluebeam. This is a full-time on-site role with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 7 years minimum of field leadership experience in site and/or mass grading.
• Experience with HCSS/Heavy Jobs, Procore or Bluebeam a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or other a plus.
• Previous experience directing and coordinating multiple crews and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of civil construction principles/practices required.

Responsibilities

• Lead field crews and oversee civil projects to ensure safety and quality.
• Coordinate multiple crews, manage resources and schedules on site.
• Review shop drawings and submittals with project engineers.
• Support estimating and preconstruction activities as needed.
• Develop detailed CPM schedule and scope of work.
• Verify as-built drawings are kept current.
