Job summary

Metric Geo is partnered with a leading heavy civil contractor in Central Arkansas to hire an Estimator. You'll be responsible for developing competitive bids on earthwork, utilities, paving, roadway, and structural projects while working closely with operations, project management, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Key responsibilities include preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing plans, developing production rates, and soliciting subcontractor quotes.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years estimating experience in heavy civil or highway construction.
• Experience estimating earthwork, utilities, paving, roadway, or bridge projects.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, or similar software preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for heavy civil projects.
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope, risks, and pricing requirements.
• Develop production rates, equipment pricing, and estimating strategies.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Support bid reviews, value engineering, and final proposal submissions.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate budgets and constructable solutions.
• Maintain organized estimating documentation and historical cost data.
