Job summary

The State of Minnesota’s Transportation Department invites undergraduate students in Civil, Construction, Environmental, Geo, or Structural Engineering or Land Management to apply for Summer 2027 student worker roles across MnDOT offices. These part-time, limited-term positions provide hands-on transportation project exposure.

Positions are day shift, Monday through Friday, with locations in the Twin Cities metro and greater Minnesota.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be an undergraduate student pursuing a Civil, Construction, Environmental, Geo, or Structural Engineering OR Land Management degree.
• Must be taking two or more classes per semester.

Responsibilities

• Assist MnDOT engineering offices with pre-engineering work as assigned.
• Support assignments in construction, surveying, design, project management, and related areas.
• Gain hands-on transportation work experience under supervision.
