Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent - Civil Construction to support the Project Superintendent and Project Manager on complex projects. This full-time, site-based role involves travel across the Southern Region to ensure timely, quality project delivery.

You will help develop schedules, manage subcontracts and purchase orders, and supervise project staff while maintaining safety and cost controls. Travel subsistence is provided per company guidelines.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of civil construction project experience required.
• Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, or Engineering, or equivalent working experience.
• General knowledge of construction principles/processes required.
• Experience with self-perform work required.
• Proven commitment to Safety and building relationships with the Owner.
• Experience managing field staff.
• Knowledge of civil construction principles/practices required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in establishing the Project Chart of Accounts.
• Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in updating the CPM Construction Schedule.
• Assist in development of Subcontracts and Purchase Orders.
• Prepare a responsibility listing for the entire Project Staff.
• Coordinate and monitor Project Engineer training and development.
• Provide administrative support for the Project Superintendent.
• Provide leadership to the Project Staff and the Project.
• Analyze and monitor job costs and maintain reports.
• Process monthly Owner Payment Applications.
• Review Change Proposals and Change Orders; address claims if applicable.
• Assist in quarterly Profit Projection Reports.
• Prepare quantity reports and labor cost analysis.
• Implement safety programs and affirmative action on the Project.
• Lead on-site Total Quality Management processes.
• Manage project closeout activities.
