Asphalt Project Superintendent

The Project Superintendent manages union laborers and operators on Heavy Highway Civil projects within the St. Louis Metro Area. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential for our supervisors.

Job Duties:

• Review Contract Documents
• Manage and lead operators and laborers throughout the project duration
• Schedule workers for daily tasks on each project
• Oversee daily operations and safety protocols for each project
• Assist in gathering data for billing purposes
• Review and approve materials and equipment for project work
• Coordinate activities, materials, procurement, and related tasks with the Project Manager and Field Staff
• Communicate progress and prepare reports for Project Manager, Project Director, Owner's Rep, and Architect
• Represent the company at weekly Project Owner's meetings
• Responsible for scheduling and performance of all operators and laborers on each project
• Supervise, review, and coordinate submittals
• Build and execute projects according to plan
• Some travel is required

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of asphalt experience
• Understanding of reading plans and specifications in construction
• Knowledge of IDOT & MODOT standard specifications for road and bridge construction
• Knowledge of pay items and job costing
• GPS knowledge is a plus
• Some travel is required
