Job summary

Turner Industries is hiring a Civil Carpenter for our team in Decatur, Alabama. The role involves constructing, erecting, installing, fabricating, dismantling, and repairing structures, formwork, and fixtures using wood and metal components, following project drawings and safety protocols.

The ideal candidate has 1–4 years of experience, basic hand and power tool knowledge, and may need NCCER certification; pre-employment tests and drug screens are required.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• 1–4 years of experience in the skill (level depending on mechanic).
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• NCCER certification may be required at some job sites.
• Written pre-employment qualification test.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Safety requirements per client including PPE and dress code.
• Applicants must not pose a direct health/safety threat.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, sketches, or plans for material needs and dimensions.
• Prepare layouts and mark cutting lines; shape and assemble materials as specified.
• Erect framework and install floors, stairs, partitions, and trim as directed.
• Construct forms and chutes for concrete; load, haul, and install per drawings.
• Finish concrete in formwork and set form panels as required.
