Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional drafting experience in civil engineering (site drafting, roadway/transportation, water resources, or survey-related work).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD with hands-on professional experience.
• Exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D for survey and civil drafting tasks.
• Experience creating civil and survey drawings (maps, plans, layouts).
• Ability to interpret survey data (measurements, angles, elevations).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing data files and setup in Civil 3D.
• Desire to learn the survey industry and pursue a long-term career in survey drafting and civil CAD work.
• Effective collaboration skills in a team-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret raw survey data from field surveyors (measurements, angles, elevations).
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to create drawings, maps, plans, and layouts for civil projects.
• Draft topographic maps showing elevation and terrain.
• Prepare boundary survey drawings defining property lines and boundaries.
• Produce ALTA survey drawings with detailed boundary information.
• Develop subdivision layouts for land development.
• Create as-built survey drawings documenting actual constructed conditions.
• Depict property boundaries, easements, rights-of-way with licensed surveyor coordination.
• Import survey data into clean point drawings and processed line work.
• Review data files for errors that could affect Civil 3D drawings.
• Collaborate with survey team and project stakeholders to meet standards.
• Support various civil disciplines (site development, roadway, water resources, stormwater).
