Job summary

Actalent in Columbus, OH is seeking a detail-oriented Survey CAD Technician to join our civil engineering team. You will use AutoCAD Civil 3D to convert field data into precise survey deliverables for land development and infrastructure projects, working with surveyors and engineers in a hybrid setting after training.

This office-based role involves processing survey data, preparing maps, and supporting field crews, with regional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CAD experience in land surveying environments.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience processing field survey data into CAD deliverables.
• Experience with topo and boundary surveys.
• Experience with construction staking and survey computations.
• Knowledge of coordinate systems and survey principles.
• Ability to prepare metes and bounds descriptions.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass screening and drug tests.
• Willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform survey computations, easement and staking calculations with accuracy.
• Process, organize, and analyze field survey data to CAD deliverables.
• Prepare survey data packages and coordinate info for field crews.
• Develop topographic, boundary, subdivision, and parcel surveys.
• Utilize coordinate systems for layout and staking activities.
• Conduct deed, map, and record research for projects.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments for surveys and constructions.
• Prepare metes and bounds descriptions and supporting calculations.
• Maintain field notes and survey documentation.
• Collaborate with survey crews, engineers, and project teams.
• Perform courthouse research to obtain survey records.
• Travel regionally to support project activities.
