Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) is seeking a Civil Construction CAD / Data Prep Specialist to transform civil plans into accurate 3D models and GPS-ready data for roads, grading, utilities, and site development.

This office-based role focuses on data preparation rather than architectural drafting. You will work with Project Managers, Survey, and Engineering teams to produce surface models, survey staking files, and construction data for field crews, ensuring adherence to plans and specifications

Qualifications

• 2+ years of civil CAD or construction data prep experience.
• Background in surveying or field construction valued.
• Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Strong math skills: geometry, measurements, grades, slopes.
• Proficiency with CAD software and general computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain 3D surface and terrain models for GPS- and Total Station–controlled equipment.
• Prepare survey staking files and construction data for field crews.
• Convert civil plans into accurate, constructible CAD models.
• Perform grade checks, surface reviews, and quality control on models and files.
• Collaborate with Survey, Project Managers, and Engineers to resolve conflicts.
