Job summary

The Poughkeepsie, NY office of Modjeski and Masters is seeking Civil Bridge Design Engineers with at least 4 years of related bridge design experience and a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

This role involves analyzing bridges with software, developing preliminary details in CAD, field inspections, and coordinating with CAD technicians. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and hold a PE license.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university.
• Valid PE license in the United States.
• Minimum of 5 years of bridge design experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and check standard structural design calculations.
• Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components using analysis software.
• Develop preliminary details using CAD software and coordinate with CAD technicians.
• Conduct field inspections and provide construction service support as needed.
• Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
• Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
• Review and check drawings for accuracy.

Poughkeepsie, NY office of Modjeski and Masters is seeking Civil Bridge Design Engineers with at least 4 years of related bridge design experience

What We’re Looking For

• At minimum a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University
• Valid PE license
• Minimum of 5 years related Bridge Design experience

What you will Do:

• Review and check standard structural design calculations.
• Perform structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using analysis software.
• Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field inspections and construction serviceassignments.
• Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
• Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
• Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
• Review and check drawings.
• Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
• Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc.
