Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. seeks Civil 3D Designers at multiple levels to prepare detailed drawings for environmental permitting, design, and construction projects. The ideal candidate collaborates with engineers, hydrogeologists, and project managers to produce high-quality outputs while meeting budgets and schedules.

Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to mentor others are essential for success on multiple concurrent projects.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in civil engineering technology or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience with Autodesk Civil 3D in civil design.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced 3D and 2D CAD design support for environmental permitting, design, and construction projects, including renewable energy systems, solid waste containment facilities, stormwater management systems, site remediation, and geotechnical engineering projects.
• Utilize various software packages to develop comprehensive civil drawings for all phases of engineering design.
• Review and interpret regulatory requirements, sketches, notes, survey data, and other input materials to determine the optimal approach for preparing detailed drawings and operating a CAD workstation with high proficiency.
• Demonstrate expert-level understanding of 3D grading design principles and concepts and effectively communicate these skills to team members.
• Mentor CAD users, designers, and engineers on advanced principles of 3D design, grading, and site design using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of internal and external CAD standards and manage the drawing database.
• Ensure the accuracy of drawing records by entering and maintaining detailed drawing database information.
• Perform self-checks on all work and review the work of others to ensure precision and compliance with project specifications.
• Execute complex grading design, volume computations, cross-sections, isopach's, and surface creation using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Develop precise coordinate and elevation tables for construction projects.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
