Job summary

Troy University seeks a student worker to lead the Civic Lab, connecting classroom learning to real community needs through hands-on programming and partnerships with the David Mathews Center for Civic Life. You will plan and facilitate workshops for college students and work with youth in local schools to deliver civic activities, while coordinating volunteers and events.

Qualifications

• Must be a current Troy University student enrolled at least half-time.
• Interest in civic engagement, community service, and local community issues
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both campus and community stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrated leadership experience through campus involvement, work, or other activities
• Prior volunteer experience

Responsibilities

• Lead the Civic Lab and support student engagement by connecting learning to community needs.
• Coordinate and lead volunteers, and organize events.
• Support outreach efforts and help plan initiatives such as a summer civics camp for elementary students.
• Collaborate with campus and community partners and assist with program tracking/evaluation.
