Job summary

Troy University is seeking a student worker to lead the Civic Lab and support student engagement by connecting learning to real community needs. You will collaborate with the David Mathews Center for Civic Life and help plan hands-on programming and partnerships.

The role includes coordinating volunteers, organizing events, supporting outreach, and assisting with initiatives such as a summer civics camp for elementary students. 15 hours/week and on-site campus work.

Qualifications

• Must be a current Troy University student enrolled at least half-time.
• Interest in civic engagement and local community issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with campus and community stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated leadership through campus involvement or work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Civic Lab and connect learning to community needs.
• Plan and facilitate workshops and discussions for college students.
• Work with youth in local schools to deliver civic activities.
• Coordinate and lead volunteers and organize events.
• Support outreach efforts and assist with track­ing and evaluation.
• Collaborate with campus and community partners on initiatives.
