Job summary

Duke University invites applications for Public Education Program Director, Bolch Judicial Institute. This role leads programs, publications, events, and research to strengthen public knowledge of courts and the rule of law.

Under the direction of the Institute's Directors, you will develop and implement civic education initiatives, coordinate with judges, lawyers, students, external partners, and support initiatives that enhance public understanding of the judiciary.

Qualifications

• Education: Work requires communications, analytical, and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
• Experience: Work requires the ability to plan and administer programs and direct program activities within a specific functional area, generally acquired through four years of related experience.
• OR ANY OTHER EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
• Preferred: Juris Doctorate or experience in the legal profession.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in meetings to determine objectives of public education programs, identify resources, and develop program protocols.
• Coordinate arrangements for programs and events such as speaker series, workshops, seminars, symposia, and conferences, including agendas, speakers, schedules, and budgets.
• Identify, analyze and support research, seminars, courses, and studies on public perceptions of courts and civic education.
• Propose, develop, and launch multimedia campaigns and prepare brochures and publications for educational resources on the judiciary.
• Liaise with external organizations to promote public education initiatives and develop partnerships.
• Prepare grant proposals and manage budgets; prepare operational and financial reports.
