Job summary

The City of Baltimore seeks a Civic Designer (NCS) for the Mayor’s Office of Performance and Innovation to blend social-science research with human-centered design. You will work with city agencies, residents, data professionals, and technical teams to map services, analyze evidence, and test practical improvements.

Reporting to the Innovation Program Manager, you will support discovery through testing and implementation, develop prototypes and dashboards, and help scale successful concepts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in anthropology, sociology, psychology, public policy, urban planning, design or related field.
• Experience conducting research, data analysis, and program design in public sector.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct interviews, focus groups, and surveys with residents and staff.
• Map services and processes and analyze findings.
• Develop prototypes and test ideas with stakeholders.
• Document methods and prepare implementation recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and coordinate projects.
