Job summary

HDR is seeking a Civic Principal to grow the Civic architecture practice in the Omaha Metro region and beyond. The role focuses on leading design and delivery for public and private sector projects, building strong client relationships, and guiding multidisciplinary teams.

You will advance HDR’s mission with a commitment to design excellence, sustainability, and the employee-owned culture, including travel as needed and active involvement in professional and community organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture is required.
• 15 years related experience in architecture/principal level preferred.
• Minimum 7 years project management experience; ability to lead teams.
• Registered Architect (license) required.
• Willingness to travel within region and nationally.

Responsibilities

• Grow and develop the Civic architecture practice in the Omaha Metro region and beyond.
• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and manage client relations.
• Oversee project contracts, quality, schedule, and budget.
• Mentor staff and support career development.
• Collaborate on BD strategy and RFQ/RFP responses.
• Represent HDR in professional organizations and community initiatives.
