Job summary

Alta Planning + Design is seeking a Civic Analytics Task Manager in Atlanta to lead data-driven planning efforts, advise junior analysts, and oversee analytic scopes and schedules. This role emphasizes strong technical skills in geospatial analysis, Python and R, and collaboration with planners and engineers.

The position supports diverse transportation planning projects, including Vision Zero and new mobility planning, with a flexible hybrid schedule and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a core discipline or a relevant bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of geospatial analysis experience in transportation/planning
• 2+ years leading tasks or projects
• Advanced proficiency with Python/R, ArcGIS Pro, and Excel
• Experience overseeing technical work, tracking progress, and reviewing outputs
• Strong oral and written communication, including presentations

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical expert and project leader for Civic Analytics work across disciplines
• Develop analytics scopes, schedules, and budgets with staff and clients
• Create analysis solutions using Python, R, and GIS tools
• Mentor junior analysts and review notebooks and scripts
• Lead proposals and scope language for analytic work
• Build new tools and methods and train staff
• Present findings to clients and partners
