Job summary

Bristol Public Schools seeks a Licensed Electrician for citywide maintenance and facilities work. The role covers installation, repair, and renovation of electrical systems across school buildings and facilities, ensuring safety and compliance.

Ideal candidates will have a State Electrical License (E2 Journeyman), a CT Class II license, and a few years of journeyman experience. Per contract, AFSCME 2267; typical daytime hours 6:30am–2:30pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred or GED.
• Connecticut Motor Vehicle License - Class II desirable.
• State Electrical License - E2 Journeyman license required.
• Three years of journeyman experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and apparatus.
• Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads.
• Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
• Maintains all safety procedures and follows district policies.
• Coordinates work with building custodian, department head or principal.
• Assists in emergency maintenance operations.
• Instructs custodians and maintenance workers on proper use of tools used in electrical repairs.
