Job summary

Springfield Public Schools is seeking a Maintenance Worker II (Electrical) to support Facilities. Responsible for skilled and unskilled maintenance across district facilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing and preventive tasks.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and EPA Section 608 certification for HVAC. Starting date is immediate; pay grade is S180; reports to Director III – Facilities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math, fractions, percentages, and ratios.
• Ability to read and follow written procedures and write routine documents.
• Ability to analyze situations and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Travel to multiple district facilities to perform repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Repair or replace kitchen equipment and other district assets as needed.
• Install new equipment and ensure code compliance and safety standards.
