Job summary

The City of Oxnard is seeking an Integration Engineer to join our IT team. You will design and implement integrations across vendor applications, ensuring secure data exchange between systems, and coordinating with business stakeholders, IT leadership, and third‑party vendors.

You will help bridge legacy and modern solutions, architecting workflows, middleware, and APIs, while enforcing security and regulatory compliance across public safety, utilities, and administrative departments.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience integrating vendor applications across multiple city systems.
• Experience building secure, scalable data exchange workflows.
• Familiarity with CJIS or government data regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather, document, and analyze integration needs across departments with stakeholders and developers.
• Become subject matter expert on vendor technologies and troubleshoot issues with vendor support and staff.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend software tools and third-party solutions to meet requirements.
• Build or maintain custom application solutions to facilitate secure data transfer between departments.
• Architect and document technical integration solutions for new and existing integrations.
• Translate business needs into actionable integration workflows including design and planning.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance and scalability, addressing bottlenecks.
• Implement security best practices to protect against common web vulnerabilities such as SQL injection, XSS, and CSRF.
