Job summary

The City of Rowlett is seeking an experienced City Manager to serve as the Chief Executive Officer, reporting to the Mayor and City Council. The role directs all city operations, oversees budgeting, and leads department directors.

The successful candidate will foster stability, open communication, and community engagement. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in public administration, extensive local government leadership, and a commitment to long-term stewardship.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or Law (qualifying experience may substitute for education).
• Seven or more years of progressively responsible local government management experience.
• Service as a City Manager, Deputy City Manager, or Assistant City Manager.

Responsibilities

• Direct all city operations and administer the annual budget.
• Appoint and supervise department directors and carry out Council policy.
• Communicate decisions early and often and be present in the community.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration / Public Administration / Management / Law

Master's degree in Public Administration
