Job summary

The City of Rowlett is seeking a seasoned manager to lead the Communications Center. Under the Community Service Commander, you will plan, direct, and schedule operations, ensuring staff adherence to department goals and policies.

You will oversee training, budgeting, and regulatory compliance, guiding supervisors and officers while maintaining strong cross-department communication. You will develop long-range goals, implement policies, monitor legislation, and ensure the center remains current

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in police administration, business administration, information systems or related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum three (3) years proven experience in technical operations, communications, records management and/or administrative management.

Responsibilities

• Manage, plan, direct and schedule the work of the Communications Center under general direction of the Community Service Commander.
• Oversee staffing, budgeting, training program, policies, and procedures to align with department goals.
• Monitor regulatory environment, forecast needs and implement new technology and policies.
• Supervise shift supervisors and officers, assign duties, review reports and ensure proper staff coverage.
• Develop performance indicators and improve professionalism and intra-department communication.
