Job summary

Environment Texas is hiring a City Hall Advocate in Dallas, San Antonio or Austin to work full-time to advocate for local solutions and help local leaders put the environment first in their decision making.

The role covers program development, advocacy, communications, event organization, fundraising, and team growth. A passion for the environment and strong communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of advocacy or organizing experience required.
• Excellent writing and public speaking skills.
• Strong ability to bring people together and build coalitions.
• Willingness to travel regularly, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop programs and campaigns around local issues at City Hall.
• Meet with decision makers and build relationships with stakeholders.
• Write reports, fact sheets, news releases, blogs and op-eds.
• Organize webinars, community events and public meetings.
• Write grant proposals and raise funds for campaigns.
• Identify and recruit strong candidates and manage interns.
