Environment America seeks a Clean Air Advocate to advance public policy and mobilize broad support for reducing air pollution. The role centers on coalition-building, events, volunteer recruitment, and media outreach to influence decision-makers and shape environmental priorities.

With 2+ years in advocacy, you will communicate effectively, organize campaigns, and engage diverse communities across multiple locations, including Boston or DC, while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Passionate about the environment and grassroots campaigns.
• 2+ years in advocacy or organizing; advanced degrees may count toward experience.
• Excellent writing and public speaking; media coverage a plus.
• Creative thinker with strategic problem-solving ability.
• Strong listener and ability to work with diverse groups.
• Well-organized and able to manage multiple proposals.
• Willing to travel regularly, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Build coalitions with diverse organizations and constituencies.
• Organize webinars, community events, and public meetings.
• Recruit volunteers and capture their stories.
• Write reports, press materials, and website content for media.
• Help shape program priorities through research and messaging.
• Lobby decision-makers and engage with legislators and agencies.
• Draft grant proposals and cultivate foundation relationships.
• Grow the team by recruiting interns and supporting staff development.
