Candidates should have at least 2 years in advocacy, strong writing and speaking skills, and a willingness to travel and work outside regular hours as needed. The position emphasizes strategic thinking and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in advocacy or organizing. Advanced degrees may count toward experience.
• Excellent writing and public speaking skills; experience with traditional and digital media a plus.
• Creative, strategic thinker who solves problems and seizes opportunities.
• Willing to travel and work evenings or weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Build coalitions across diverse organizations to support our goals.
• Organize webinars, community events, and public meetings to engage the public.
• Recruit and work with volunteers to tell their stories.
• Write reports, fact sheets, news releases, and other materials to communicate our message.
• Help shape program priorities through policy development and messaging.
• Advocate to decision-makers via lobbying, hearings, and collaboration with agencies.
• Fundraise by writing grant proposals and cultivating donor relationships.
• Grow the team by recruiting interns and assisting staff development.
