Job summary

City of Kingman seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the Engineering Department across municipal projects including environmental, water, sewer and streets. The role provides strategic direction, manages budgets, and ensures code compliance while reporting to the City Manager and Council.

Ideal candidates hold a PE, 10+ years in civil engineering (public sector preferred), and a strong record in leadership, project delivery, and staff development. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in civil engineering; PE license preferred or ability to obtain.
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience; public sector preferred.
• 5+ years of supervisory/management experience with staff leadership.

Responsibilities

• Directs engineering operations for municipal projects and programs.
• Oversees budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.
• Leads capital improvement planning and project delivery.
• Represents the department to City leadership, public and agencies.
• Ensures compliance with codes, standards and safety requirements.
