City of Urbana is seeking an experienced City Engineer to lead the Engineering Division within the Public Works Department. You will direct infrastructure engineering, construction management, and development review, and serve as City Traffic Engineer, guiding CIP development and enforcing design standards.

As a member of the executive management team, you will supervise professional staff, coordinate with City Council and external partners, pursue funding, and ensure high-quality public works

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• PE license in Illinois preferred or eligible to obtain.
• Minimum eight years of managerial or supervisory experience.

Responsabilités

• Lead the Engineering Division including infrastructure engineering and construction management.
• Oversee development review, CIP planning, and design standards enforcement.
• Serve as City Traffic Engineer and manage multiple capital projects.
• Supervise staff and coordinate with City Council and external partners.
• Pursue federal/state funding and manage project costs and records.
• Promote collaboration and integrity across departments and community.
