The City of Urbana, IL, seeks a City Engineer to lead the Engineering Division within the Public Works Department. The successful candidate will direct infrastructure design, construction management, development review, CIP updates, and traffic engineering while partnering with the City Council and external agencies.

The role requires a bachelor’s in civil engineering, at least eight years’ managerial experience, and a State of Illinois PE license; a master’s degree is preferred.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with at least eight (8) years of progressively responsible managerial, supervisory, and administrative experience.
• A master's degree and/or municipal civil engineering is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, manage, and direct the Engineering Division within the Urbana Public Works Department.
• Oversee infrastructure design, construction management, development review, and CIP updates.
• Serve as City Traffic Engineer and coordinate with City Council, staff, and external agencies.
• Provide leadership to create a positive, inclusive work environment and ensure high-quality engineering services.
