Job summary

City of New York's Mayor’s Office seeks a Special Assistant (MA)-MGRL to lead data and technology strategy across agencies. You will partner with senior leadership to shape programs, governance, and delivery of tech initiatives that improve services and efficiency.

The role requires strong analysis, stakeholder engagement, and experience in government operations, with responsibilities spanning data governance, vendor management, and project delivery in a complex urban environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and at least 3 years of research experience in the relevant field, or 5+ years in government with leadership.
• At least 3 years in a consultative, managerial, or executive capacity.
• Experience managing databases, indexing, query optimization, and security.
• Experience establishing data governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Identify technology needs and challenges with senior leadership.
• Collaborate with external partners and city data to leverage resources.
• Evaluate solutions, assess vendors, and negotiate contracts.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across agencies.
• Design and maintain scalable, secure technology infrastructure.
• Manage software development projects from requirements to deployment.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
