Job summary

Southside Behavioral Health invites applications for a CITAC Officer to join our Crisis Response Team in Virginia. You will accept and document custody for Emergency Custody Orders (ECO) to enable local law enforcement to return to the community efficiently.

The role requires DCJS law enforcement authority or a path to become a Special Conservator of the Peace (SCOP). Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills, plus a valid driver’s license, are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires DCJS-certified authority as a law enforcement officer (or equivalent) with documented training and experience.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Meet DCJS qualifications to act as CITAC Officer.
• Complete Transfer of Custody for ECO cases thoroughly.
• Serve ECO and TDO as needed.
• Collaborate with Crisis Response Team to ensure continuity of care.
