Job summary

The TCW Group, Inc. is seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Information Security Officer in New York or Los Angeles. You will lead the information security function, design and implement robust security programs, and act as Incident Commander for major incidents.

You will mentor teams, align security with business goals, and communicate risk and strategy to executives. A strong track record in risk management, cloud security, and regulatory compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS or related field
• 10+ years in information security with 7+ years in leadership
• Deep knowledge of security practices (Vuln mgmt, IR, endpoint protection)
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, etc.
• Strong technical foundation in security architecture, threat modeling, cloud security

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the information security function for the firm
• Develop and execute the information security strategy and roadmap
• Oversee day-to-day operation and monitoring of security controls
• Design and implement robust cloud and application security program
• Collaborate with stakeholders on onboarding controls and risk
• Drive remediation and reporting of vulnerabilities
• Serve as Incident Commander for major incidents
• Automate security operations to improve detection and response
• Develop training plans and mentorship to grow internal capabilities
• Monitor threat landscape and advise on action
• Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (NIST CSF 2.0, etc.)
• Collaborate with peers to share best practices
• Influence secure design patterns and secure software development practices
• Lead data protection initiatives
