Job summary

Motion Recruitment in Phoenix, AZ is partnering with a well-established organization to hire a Network Systems Engineer for their in-house IT team. This hands-on role operates in a Cisco environment with exposure across network, server, storage and data center infrastructure, offering broad experience.

You’ll install, configure and administer environments, handle 2nd line support, document procedures, participate in IT projects, and travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Cisco infrastructure experience.
• Strong grasp of LAN/WAN/WLAN, DNS, subnetting, routing and switching.
• Exposure to SD-WAN, VoIP, virtualization, or Microsoft 365 and Azure is a plus.
• CCNA certification, or actively working toward it.
• Technical degree, bachelor’s, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong documentation habits and clear communication.
• Humble, team-first approach; able to work in a lean team.
• Comfortable with hands-on physical work, including racking equipment and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and administer network, server, storage, and data center environments.
• Handle 2nd line support for incidents and changes, with escalation paths above you.
• Monitor performance and capacity, and help forecast infrastructure needs.
• Write and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and configuration standards.
• Participate in IT projects including upgrades and rollouts.
• Support network hardware, servers, data storage, and workstations.
• Maintain backup systems.
• Travel up to 10% as needed.
