Job summary

Motion Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Phoenix organization to hire a Senior Network Systems Engineer for the in-house IT team. You will own design and implementation across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN, while supporting a global enterprise network and data center environment.

You will lead projects, provide advanced incident resolution, and mentor teammates on a lean team. Expect hands-on work, collaboration with IT leadership, and travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience in a Cisco infrastructure environment.
• Expertise across DNS, LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, TLS, SD-WAN, and subnetting.
• Experience with enterprise and global network architectures and topologies.
• Data center experience, both wired and wireless.
• CCNA or higher preferred.
• Technical degree, bachelor's, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and administer a global enterprise network and data center environment.
• Own design and implementation across LAN, WLAN, WAN, and SD-WAN.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for complex incidents and changes.
• Lead IT projects including upgrades, migrations, and new site implementations.
• Monitor performance and capacity, forecast infrastructure needs, and maintain continuity planning.
• Create and maintain configuration standards, technical documentation, and procedures.
• Train and mentor other team members as needed.
• Partner with IT leadership and a global network competence lead.
• Travel up to 25% as needed.

Senior Network Systems Engineer

Location: Onsite in Phoenix, AZ

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Motion Recruitment is partnering with a well-established organization in Phoenix to hire a Senior Network Systems Engineer for their in-house IT team. This role sits at the center of a global enterprise network, covering design, implementation, and escalation support across multiple sites. Its a strong fit for someone who wants ownership and technical depth rather than a narrow lane on a large team.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Significant hands-on experience in a Cisco infrastructure environment
• Expertise across DNS, LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, TLS, SD-WAN, and subnetting
• Experience with enterprise and global network architectures and topologies
• Data center experience, both wired and wireless
• Cisco DNA and Cisco ISE experience is a plus
• Exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure, SQL, VMware, servers, and VoIP is a plus
• CCNA or higher preferred
• Technical degree, bachelor's, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Humble, collaborative approach. This is a lean team where everyone contributes
• Comfortable with hands-on work, including occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
