TEKsystems in Lansing, MI, is seeking a Contract Network Engineer to support Cisco switching, SD‑WAN, and firewall platforms with an onsite focus. The role emphasizes hands‑on engineering and network refresh projects across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on Cisco switching experience (Catalyst 9000), SD‑WAN familiarity, and firewall expertise, with a contract‑based arrangement and competitive hourly pay along with a solid benefits package.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Cisco switching, including Catalyst 9000 series.
• Experience with SD‑WAN technologies (Cisco Meraki or equivalents).
• Experience with firewall platforms (Cisco Firepower & Palo Alto).

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering backfill and project support for architects and network engineers.
• Support network hardware refresh initiatives across sites.
• Refresh switches across sites.
• Refresh distribution across 12 locations.
• Assist with SD‑WAN rollouts across environments.
• Hands‑on work with Cisco network infrastructure (access, distribution, chassis switches).
• Support Palo Alto and Cisco Firepower firewall platforms as assigned.
• Work onsite with flexibility to assist across environments.
• Follow standard equipment configurations and operational practices (no deep architecture design).

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
