EHC is seeking a Forklift Operator for a Client in the Houston Area
Primary Function
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and material handling equipment to transport heavy products, materials, and equipment throughout the facility and yard. This role supports inventory control, manufacturing operations, shipping, receiving, and general yard activities while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtain and maintain company forklift certification.
- Operate forklifts to transport full-length pipe, materials, products, and equipment throughout the facility and yard.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Move materials between indoor and outdoor storage locations.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on forklifts and related equipment.
- Maintain pipe storage racks and storage areas as needed.
- Support manufacturing and production operations by moving products to designated locations.
- Assist with rig preparation, returns processing, and other operational activities as required.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to operational needs when necessary.Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Tools, Equipment, and Machinery
- Forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Applicable inspection, measuring, and testing equipment as required by company procedures and work instructions.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma, GED, trade school certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling experience.
- For advanced equipment classifications, 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience may be required.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to safety and operational procedures.
- Ability to perform required job duties within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Training Requirements
- Company safety orientation and training.
- Quality and operational systems training.
- Review of required policies, procedures, and operational documentation.
- Hands‑on training covering company work instructions, equipment operation, and applicable industry standards.
- Ongoing training and certification requirements as outlined in the company training program.
