Salem State University seeks an Executive Functioning (EF) Coach for its Community of Inclusive Scholars (CIS) program within MAIPSE. The role provides individualized support to college students with intellectual and developmental disabilities enrolled in inclusive postsecondary education.
The coach fosters student engagement across academics, social activities, and internships. The position is a 10-month grant-funded role beginning in August, with up to 30 hours per week and two vacancies.
The Massachusetts Inclusive Post Secondary Education (MAIPSE) is through the MA Office Of Higher Education. It is a grant funded program for students 18-26 years who have had special education services in high school. There are fifteen state-wide initiatives providing access to students with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. Salem State University’s MAIPSE initiative is the Community of Inclusive Scholars (CIS). Students in the CIS program share the same experiences as their college peers in the areas of academics, socialization, professional development, employers/internship sites, and independent living. Students become more independent and actively engaged in creating and living their lives.
The Executive Functioning (EF) Coach plays a vital role in the success of a student participating in the Salem State CIS program. The CIS EF Coach provides individualized, inclusive support to college students with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder enrolled in inclusive postsecondary education programs at Salem State University. The coach facilitates student engagement in academic, social, and vocational experiences, with the goal of promoting independence, self-advocacy, and successful transition to employment or further education.
Please Note: This is a 10 month position beginning in August, with a maximum of 30 hours per week. This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon ongoing grant funding.
There are two vacancies for this position.
This is an onsitepositionin Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities,which may require occasionalwork on evenings and weekends.
Employment is contingent upon a completed background and CORI check satisfactory to the university.
