Harford County Public Library is seeking a Library Assistant II – Circulation at the Whiteford Branch. The role supports user access to materials and services, handling check-ins/outs, registrations, and basic financial transactions.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED and 1–3 years of related experience, with eligibility for day, evening, and weekend shifts. It offers a full-time schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Checks materials in and out and maintains accurate customer accounts.
• Answers phones, greets customers, and directs them to appropriate areas.
• Registers customers for library cards and provides orientation on policies.
• Calculates and collects fines and fees and maintains financial records.
• Performs daily maintenance of periodicals and other materials.
• Promotes programs and services to encourage library use.
