Job summary

Harford County Public Library is seeking a part-time Processing Assistant to support materials selection, purchasing, invoicing, and management across formats. The role helps ensure collections stay current and relevant, while providing service to both internal staff and external patrons.

You will work with barcode/RFID processes, Spines and cases, vendor communications, and ILS software to track funds and orders. This position requires attention to detail and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Six (6) or more months of related experience.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to learn to operate relevant computer systems, including hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Reconciles the receiving, payment, processing, and maintenance of the library’s material purchases.
• Provides customer service to internal and external customers in relation to materials projects.
• Processes all library materials including barcodes, RFID, spine labels, cases, covers, etc.
• Converts library materials in the ILS acquisitions module and sends to vendors.
• Invoices library materials in library’s integrated library system and codes invoices for finance.
