Job summary

Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is seeking a Circulation Department Head for the East Las Vegas Library to lead the Customer Service Department, supervise staff, manage fines/fees, and act as PIC as needed.

The role requires experience in supervisory settings, a High School diploma, and preferred Bachelor’s degree, with a 40-hour work week and exempt status. The position pays $66,132.65–$88,623.89 annually in Las Vegas, NV.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration or related field preferred.
• Two (2) years’ experience as a Library Aide II or equivalent position required.
• Two (2) years’ experience as Library Aide II or equivalent position and one (1) year supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises assigned staff, including but not limited to.
• Performance coaching and management.
• Career counseling and development.
• Conflict resolution.
• Staffs assigned department within budgetary guidelines to meet service demand.
• Organizes assigned services, programs, and employees to achieve established goals.
• Coordinates with Branch Manager and other branch-level library departments to meet established branch and District goals.
• Develops, maintains, and monitors key reporting metrics to achieve and control desired quality outcomes.
• Accurately prepares and maintains files, records, and reports.
• Processes and handles confidential information with discretion.
• Sets short-term (daily to annual) operational goals for assigned service or department.
• Monitors department compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, best practices, and District policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
