Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Required).
• Operating room or perioperative nursing experience (Required).
• RN licensure in the state of practice (Required).
• BLS certification (Required).

Responsibilities

• Pre-operative assessment and consent verification; confirm patient identity and surgical site.
• Participate in surgical time-out and site verification for every case.
• Function as circulating nurse; maintain sterile field and aseptic technique.
• Perform and document accurate instrument, sponge and sharps counts with the scrub team.
• Handle, label and process surgical specimens according to policy.
• Document intra-operative care and handoff to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
