Job summary

Power Solutions Group is seeking a Breaker Shop Technician to repair, refurbish, and test LV/MV/HV circuit breakers and related equipment. The role ensures conformance to ANSI/NETA ATS/MTS standards and supports field deployment with precise quality checks.

The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, experience with electrical test equipment, and the ability to read schematics. Safety and accuracy are paramount in a shop environment.

Qualifications

• : High school diploma or equivalent; required for entry.
• : Hands-on mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical experience.
• : Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• : NETA experience or Level 1/2 certification a strong plus.
• : Experience with electrical test equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair and refurbish LV/MV/HV circuit breakers and related equipment.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, lubricate, adjust, and replace components as needed.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform electrical testing, including contact resistance, insulation resistance, Hi-Pot, timing, primary injection, and secondary injection.
• Operate testing equipment such as DLROs, Meggers, Doble test sets, and primary injection equipment.
• Review test results against manufacturer specifications and ANSI/NETA standards.
• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Document repairs, inspections, and test results accurately.
• Complete final quality checks before equipment is returned to service or shipped to customers.
• Support field service teams by preparing equipment for deployment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow company safety procedures, NFPA 70E, OSHA requirements, and PPE requirements.
