  • Run weekly Circles meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality in communications and data.
  • Stay in touch with Circles USA for best practices.

Job description

Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi is seeking a qualified Case Worker for the Circles Program. The Case Worker is a leader whose primary role is to work within the Circles community, supporting Circles Leaders, Allies, and volunteers. The Case Worker is the person on whom participants and volunteers call when they have questions or concerns within the Circles community. The Case Worker has experience working with diverse socio-economic communities, a deep knowledge of poverty, skills in community organizing and volunteer management, and an awareness of the social service resources in the community.This is a part-time position.Ministerial Character:The Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (The Diocese) entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.General Responsibilities:The list below reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the primary functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of corpus Christi in both professional and personal lifeActs as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic churchContinuously grows in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directedPromote a supportive, inclusive, positive culture within the Circles community so all Circles Leaders, Allies, and other volunteers feel supportedMaintain open and honest communication within the Circles community and work to mediate issues and resolve conflict when neededWork with the Recruitment Team to recruit participantsWork with the Training Facilitator to oversee the training of participants and volunteersHelp oversee the Training FacilitatorAssist with interviews, selection and enrollment of Circle Leaders and AlliesRuns the weekly Circles meetingsAssists the Big View Team in coordinating the monthly Big View meetingsEnsure confidentiality in all communications - both written and oralAssist with data collection and input of data into the Circles USA data systemReport regularly to the chapter's Coordinator and complete additional tasks as assigned by the CoordinatorStay in contact with Circles USA for support and best practicesPerform other duties as assignedMental/Physical Demands:Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or moreAbility to maintain composure under duress; maintain emotional control under stressMust maintain confidentiality of the departmentMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentValid Texas driver's licenseSpecial Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to relate authentically and effectively with people from diverse socio-economic backgroundsAbility to delegate tasks rather than "doing it all"Ability to remain calm amidst stress or conflict and to mediate disagreementsSolid organizational skills to manage complex tasks with autonomyFamiliarity with available social services in the communityExcellent verbal and written communication skillsA flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Circles communityAdditional Requirements:Must successfully complete criminal history background check, motor vehicle record review, and drug screeningCertification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office for Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources is requiredMust adhere to all diocesan policies and procedures***In order to be considered for employment with the Diocese of Corpus Christi locations, all interested individuals must complete the online application at https://diocesecc.org/human-resources.***
